Uttaranchal (Uttar Pradesh Habitual Offenders Restriction Rules, 1957) Adaptation and Modification Order, 2002

Whereas, under Section 87 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000, the Uttaranchal Government may by order, make such adaptation and modification of the law by way of repeal or amendment as necessary or expedient;

And, whereas, the Uttar Pradesh Habitual Offenders Restriction Rules, 1957 is in force in the State of Uttaranchal under Section 86 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 87 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000 (Act No. 29 of 2000), the Governor is pleased to direct that the U.P. Habitual Offenders Restriction Rules, 1957 shall have applicability to the State of Uttaranchal subject to the provisions of the following order :

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This order may be called Uttaranchal (Uttar Pradesh Habitual Offenders Restriction Rules, 1957) Adaptation and Modification Order, 2002.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. The word "Uttar Pradesh" to be read "Uttaranchal".- In Uttar Pradesh Habitual Offenders Restriction Rules, 1957 wherever the expression "Uttar Pradesh" occurs, it shall be read as "Uttaranchal".
