  1. Short title.- These rules may be called the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities (Conditions to Vary or Alter the Budget Grants) Rules, 1962.
  2. Definitions.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires :-

(a) "Act" means the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1961 (No. 37 of 1961);

(b) "Section" means a section of the Act.

  1. Conditions for varying or altering budget grants.- The power of the indebted Council, in respect of which a direction under the third proviso to sub-section (3) of Section 116 has been issued by the State Government to vary or alter budget grants under Sections 117 and 118 shall be subject to the following conditions namely :-

(a) due regards shall be had when making any variation or alteration in the budget grant to all the requirements of the Act and the rules made thereunder;

(b) every such variation or alteration in the budget grant shall be subject to the previous approval of the State Government.

  1. Rules to be general.- These rules shall be general for all Municipalities.
