The Municipal Corporation (Addresses To Persons of Distinction) Madhya Pradesh Rules, 1966

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (l) and clause (c) of sub-section (2) of Section 433 read with clause (t) of Section 67 of the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956 (No. 23 of 1956), and in supersession of all rules or bye-laws previously made on the subject, the State Government hereby make the following rules, the same having been previously published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 433 of the said Act, namely ;
- Short title.- These rules may be called the Municipal Corporation (Addresses to Persons of Distinction) (M.P.) Rules, 1966.
- In these rules, "persons of distinction" include :-
(a) a person who appears amongst the first 12 entries of the Warrant of Precedence issued by the Government of India, Chief Ministers of all States and Cabinet Ministers of Madhya Pradesh;
(b) a Head of the Foreign State, or Minister representing any other State; and
(c) such other person who because of his achievements in the Arts. Science, Humanities. Education or Philanthropy is allowed to be treated as such by the State Government, whose achievements may have been recognised by an award of the Government of India.
- Presentation of address.- A Corporation may present an address to a person ol distinction any may hold a reception connection with the presentation of such address.
- Expenditure.- Subject to the provisions in the budget a Corporation may incur an expenditure not exceeding two thousand and live hundred rupees on any such address including reception :
Provided that in special circumstances, a Corporation may, with the previous sanction of the State Government, incur additional expenditure on any such address including reception.
