G.S.R. 404(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 124, read with Sub-section (1) of Section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby approves the Cochin Port Employees (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Regulations, 2005 made by the Board of Trustees of Cochin Port Trust as set out in the Schedule annexed to this Notification. The said Regulations shall come into force from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. Schedule
Amendment to the Cochin Port Employees (Classification, Control and Appeal) Regulations, 1964
1. These Regulations may be called the Cochin Port Employees (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Regulations, 2005. 2 They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Gazette of India. 3. In the Regulation 9 of the Cochin Port Employees (Classification, Control and Appeal) Regulations, hereinafter called the said regulations, the following shall be inserted as Sub-regulations '7' and '8' after Sub-regulation (6). "(7) An order of suspension made or deemed to have been made under this regulation shall be reviewed by the authority competent to modify or revoke the suspension, before expiry of ninety days from the date of order of suspension, on the recommendation of the review committee constituted for the purpose and pass orders either extending or revoking the suspension. Subsequent reviews shall be made before expiry of the extended period of suspension. Extension of suspension shall not be for a period exceeding one hundred and eighty days at a time." "(8) Notwithstanding anything contained in Sub-regulation (6), an order of suspension made or deemed to have been made under Sub-regulation (1) or (3) of this Regulation shall not be valid after a period of ninety days unless it is extended after a review for a further period before the expiry of ninety days."
