- S.O. 3233, dated the 18th October, 1962. - In pursuance of Section 302 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby appoint's the Principal Officer, Mercantile Marine Department, Bombay, Calcutta and Madras, or, in his absence, the Surveyor who carries out his duties to issue the Exemption Certificate specified in the said section.

Authorising Every Indian Consular Officer Abroad To Exercise The Powers Under Section 303 (3) (A) of the Act
[S.O. 3401, dated the 15th November, 1973. ] - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 303 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby authorises every Indian Consular Officer abroad to exercise the powers specified in Cl. (a) of the said sub-section (3).
