G.S.R. 206(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (c) of sub-section (2) of Section 176 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regarding payment of fees for application for grant of licence under sub-section (1) of Section 15, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Fees for Making Application for Grant of Licence Rules, 2004. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions. - (1) In these rules unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Act' means the Electricity Act, 2003;
(b) "section" means a section of the Act; and
(c) expression used and not defined in these rules but defined in the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in that Act.
3. Fees for making application for grant of licence. - (1) Every application under Section 14 for grant of licence by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, shall be accompanied by a fee of rupees one lakh only. (2) The fee shall be remitted through demand draft in favour of the Assistant Secretary, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
