The National Human Rights Commission (Conditions of Service of Officers and Staff) Rules, 2000

G.S.R. 611(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 40 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 (10 of 1994) the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the National Human Rights Commission (Conditions of Service of Officers and Staff) Rules, 2000.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Definition.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, "Commission" means the National Human Rights Commission constituted under section 3 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
- Officers and staff of the Commission.- The nature and categories of the officers and start of the Commission and the scale of pay attached thereto shall be as specified in the Schedule appended to these rules.
- Conditions of Service.- The conditions of service of the officers and staff of the Commission in the matters of pay, allowances, leave, provident fund, age of superannuation, pension and retirement benefits and other conditions of service, shall be regulated in accordance with such rules and regulations as are for the time being applicable to officers and staff belonging to Group 'A', Group "B', Group 'C', and Group 'D' of the Central Government, as the case may be, of the corresponding scales of pay attached to these posts.
- (1) Save as otherwise provided in sub-rule (2), the officers and staff of the Commission in the matter of medical facilities shall be governed by the Central Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944.
(2) The persons appointed to the All India Services who are in the Commission on deputation basis shall be governed by the All India Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1954.
