In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 27 read with section 28 of the Insectides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order, namely:—

1.This Order may be called the Banning of Chlorofenvinphos Order, 2008.

  1. No person shall manufacture, import and use Chlorofenvinphos.
  2. The Registration Committee shall call back the certificates to registration granted for Chlorofenvinphos from all registrants including new registrants.
  3. If any person who holds the certificate of registration fails to return the certificate to the Registration Committee, referred to in clause (3), within a period of six months, action shall be taken under section 14 of the said Act.
  4. Every State Government shall take all such steps under the provisions of the said Act and the rules made thereunder, as it considers necessary for the execution of this Order in the State.
