No. G.S.R. 675(E),dated 14th October, 2004- In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of sub-section (2) of section 52 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the qualifications of members of the Review Committee, namely:—
- Short title and commencement .—(1) These rules may be called The Qualifications for the Members of the Review Committee Rules, 2004.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
- Definitions .—In these rules, “member” means a member of the Review Committee constituted under sub-section (1) of section 37 of the Act.
- The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint a person as member of the Review Committee who is, or has been,—
(a) an officer not below the rank of Secretary to the Government of India; and
(b) has one year experience in legal affairs/administration of criminal justice.
