G.S.R. 771(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 21, read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of the One Thousand Rupees and Five Rupees coined to Commemorate the occasion of "One Thousand Years of Brihadeeswarar Temple" in Rules, 2010.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Standard weight and remedy allowed.- Standard weight and Remedy allowed on coins of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 5 denominations, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906) to commemorate the occasion of "One Thousand Years of Brihadeeswarar Temple" and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the Table below, namely:-
