G.S.R. 508(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 21, read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (i) These rules may be called the Coinage of the Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees coined to commemorate the occasion of "150 Years - The First War of Independence" Rules, 2007.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Definition.- In these rules, "Act" means the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906).
- Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The Standard weight of the coins of the Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees denominations, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Act, to commemorate the occasion of "150 Years - The First War of Independence" and the remedy allowed in the making of such coins shall be as specified in the Table below :-
