G.S.R. 43(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 21 read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of the Five Rupees coined to commemorate the occasion of "Unity in Diversity", Rules, 2006.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Definition.- In these rules, "Act" means the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906).
- Standard weight and remedy allowed on coins of certain denominations coined to commemorate the occasion of "Unity in Diversity" :-
The standard weight of the coins of the following denominations, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Act, to commemorate the occasion of "Unity in Diversity" and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the Table below :-
