G.S.R. 47(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 21, read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of the Five Rupees coined to commemorate the occasion of "Lal Bahadur Shastri Birth Centenary (1904-2004)" Rules, 2007.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Standard Weight and Remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin Five Rupees denomination, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906) and the remedy allowed in making of such coin to commemorate the occasion of "Lal Bahadur Shastri Birth Centenary" shall be as specified in the Table below, namely :-
