G.S.R. 781(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 21, read with Section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage of the Five Rupees coined in commemoration of "The First War of Independence" Rules, 2008.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
- Standard Weight and Remedy allowed.- Standard weight and remedy allowed on Rs.5 denomination, coined under the provisions of Section 6 of the Act, to Commemorate the occasion of "The First War of Independence" shall be as specified in the Table below :-
