G.S.R. 395(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 21 read with section 7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely ;-
- Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Standard Weight and Remedy of Commemorative Coins) of One hundred rupees (Containing Silver 50%, Copper 40%, Nickel 5% and Zinc 5%) Ten rupees (containing Copper 75% and Nickel 25%) and One rupee Ferritic Stainless Steel (containing Iron 82% and Chromium 18%) coined on the occasion of the celebration of the Birth Centenary of "Lok Nayak Jaya Prakash Narayan" Rules, 2002.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazelle.
- Definition.- In these rules, "Act" means Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906).
- Standard Weight and Remedy allowed on coins of certain denominations.- The standard weight of the coins on the occasion of Birth Centenary of "Lok Nayak Jaya Prakash Narayan" to be issued in the denominations specified in column (1) of the Table below, coined under the provisions of section 6 of the Act, and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in corresponding entries in columns (2) and (3) respectively said :-
