An Act to repeal the Punjab Betterment Charges and Acreage Rates Act, 1952.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Twenty Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows;

  1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Betterment Charges and Acreage Rates (Haryana Repealing) Act, 1976.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of July, 1975.

  1. Repeal of Punjab Act 2 of 1953.- The Punjab Betterment Charges and Acreage Rates Act, 1952, in its application to the State of Haryana, is hereby repealed :

Provided that such repeal shall no -

(a) revive anything not in force or existing at the time at which the repeal takes effect; or

(b) affect the previous operation of the Act so repealed or anything duly done or suffered thereunder; or

(c) affect any right privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the Act so repealed; or

(d) affect any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against the Act so repealed; or

(e) affect any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid;

and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed, as if that Act had not been repealed.

  1. Repeal.- The Punjab Betterment Charges and Acreage Rates (Haryana Repealing) Ordinance, 1975 (Haryana Ordinance No. 5 of 1975), is hereby repealed.
