Object & Reasons6

Statement of Objects and Reasons. - Doubt has been expressed whether the word "carts" as used in sections 52, 53 and 54, Indian Forest Act, 1927, includes vehicles other than two wheeled country carts. As cases have arisen where vehicles other than country carts have been used in committing forest offences, the words "carts" is being replaced by the more general expression "vehicles" so as to remove the doubt regarding the liability of all or any of the vehicles so used, to seizure and confiscation under the aforesaid sections.
