Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 9th October, 1961, and first published for general information in the Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary), Legislative Supplement, Part I, of the 12th October, 1961.
An Act to extend the Indian Easements Act, 1882, to the State of Punjab.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Twelfth year of the Republic of India as follow :-
- Short title.- This Act may be called the Indian Easements (Punjab Extension) Act, 1961.

Statement of Objects and Reasons. - The Law Commission of India has recommended that uniformity should be secured by extending the Indian Easements Act, 1882, to the whole of India. With a view to achieving this uniformity, it is proposed to extend the Indian Easements Act, 1882, to the whole of new State of Punjab and to repeal the Patiala Easements Act, 2032 Bk., in force in the rest while Pepsu area.

- Extension of the Indian Easements Act, 1882, to the State of Punjab.- The Indian Easements Act, 1882, is hereby extended to the State of Punjab.
- Repeal.- The Patiala Easements Act, 2002 BK (Pepsu Act No. XVI of 2002 BK), is hereby repealed :-
Provided that anything done or any action taken under the Act hereby repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the Indian Easements Act, 1882.
