    An Act to amend Bengal, Agra and Assam Civil Courts Act, 1987 in its application to the State of Bihar.

    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the forty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows :-

    1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Bengal, Agra and Assam Civil Courts (Bihar Amendment) Act, 1996.

    (2) It extents to the whole of the State of Bihar.

    (3) It shall come into force at once.

    1. Amendment of Section 21 of Act 12 of 1887.- In the Bengal, Agra and Assam Civil Courts Act, 1887 (Act 12 of 1887) clause (a) of sub-section (1) of Section 21 for the words "sixty thousand" the words "two lakhs" shall be substituted.
