An Act to provide for the abolition of whipping as a punishment and to amend the existing State Laws for this purpose
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Twenty fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
- Short title and extent.- (1) This Act may be called the Haryana Abolition of Whipping Act, 1974.
(2) It extends to whole of the State of Haryana.
- Abolition of Whipping.- (1) The punishment of whipping as provided in any law with respect to any other matters specified in the State and Concurrent Lists of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India is hereby abolished.
- Repeal.- The Punjab Abolition of Whipping Act, 1957 (Punjab Act 25 of 1957), in its application to the State of Haryana is hereby repealed.
