Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 10th July, 1957, and was first published in the Punjab Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 13th July, 1957.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:
- Short title.- This Act may be called the Punjab Court of Wards (Validation of Exercise of Powers) Act, 1957.

Statement of Objects and Reasons. - "Certain powers of the Court of Wards under the Punjab Court of Wards Act, II of 1903, had been delegated to officers not below the rank of Extra Assistant Commissioner placed in charge of the Court of Wards estates with the previous approval of the Punjab Government. After the 30th of September, 1949, no extension of the exercise of these powers was ordered, but the above-mentioned Officers continued to exercise these. Hence the present Bill for regularising the action".

- Validation of acts and idemnity in respect thereof.- All acts of executive authority or proceedings which have been done or taken with respect to or in connection with any court of wards estate since 1st October, 1949, and before the commencement of this Act, by an officer not below the rank of Extra Assistant Commissioner in charge of court of wards estate or by a person acting under his authority or otherwise in pursuance of an order of Punjab Court of Wards, or in the belief or purported belief that the acts and proceedings were being done or taken in accordance with law, and no civil suit or other legal proceeding shall be maintained or continued against any person whatsoever on the ground that any such act or proceeding was not done or taken in accordance with law.
