Indian Succession (Amendment) Act, 2002

ACT NO. 26 OF 2002. [27th May, 2002.]

An Act further to amend the Indian Succession Act, 1925.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section -1 Short title.

This Act may be called the Indian Succession (Amendment) Act, 2002.

Section -2 Amendment of section 32.

In section 32 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925 (39 of 1925) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), the Explanation shall be omitted.

Section -3 Amendment of section 213.

In section 213 of the principal Act, in sub-section (2), after the word "Muhammadans", the words "or Indian Christians" shall be inserted.
