Petroleum (Berar Extension) Act 1937

PREAMBLE

An Act to extend the Petroleum Act, 1934, to Berar.

Whereas in Berar the importation, possession and transport of petroleum and other substances are regulated by the Indian Petroleum Act, 1899 (8 of 1899), as applied to Berar by order made under the Indian (Foreign Jurisdiction) Order in Council, 1902;

And whereas it is expedient that the Indian Petroleum Act, 1899 (8 of 1899), in its application to Berar should be repealed and that the Petroleum Act, 1934 (30 of 1934), should be extended to Berar; It is hereby enacted as follows:-

This Act may be called the Petroleum (Berar Extension) Act 1937.

The Indian Petroleum Act, 1899 as in force in Berar, is hereby repealed, and the Petroleum Act, 1934, is hereby extended to and declared to be in force in Berar.

Rules made and notifications issued under the Petroleum Act, 1934 (30 of 1934), and in force in 1*[Part A States and Part C States (excluding Berar)] at the commencement of this Act are hereby extended to and declared to be in force in Berar.
