Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 24th April, 1956, and was first published in the Punjab Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 4th May, 1956.
An act to validate certain registrations and matters appurtenant thereto.
Be it enacted by the legislature of the State of Punjab in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows -
- Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Registration Validating Act, 1956.
(2) It shall come into force at once.

Statement of Objects and Reasons. - This legislation is being undertaken with a view to validate the deeds attested in good faith by an unauthorised officer (General Assistant, Kangra) within the meaning of sections 6 and 7(2) of the Indian Registration Act." (Punjab Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 1st March, 1956). |
- Validation of acts of registering officer purporting to act as Sub-Registrar and Registrar.- All acts performed by the General Assistant, Kangra, purporting to act as (1) the Sub-Registrar of Dharamsala Sub-District of the district of Kangra and (2) Registrar of the district of Kangra during the period commencing from January 3rd and ending with June 2nd, 1955, shall be valid and deemed to have been validly performed as though the appointments of aforesaid official had been duly made as Sub-Registrar and Registrar, under the Indian Registration Act (Act XVI of 1908) for the purposes of such acts.
