- These orders may be called the Punjab Import and Possession of Charas Orders, 1955, and shall come into force at once.
The following notifications are hereby cancelled -
(1) Punjab Government Notification No. 4870-EX, dated the 13th November, 1935.
(2) Punjab Government Notification No. 4305-EX, dated the 16th October, 1937.
(3) Punjab Government Notification No. 214-EX, dated the 13th January, 1939.
(4) Punjab Government Notification No. 266-E &T-50/559,dated the 10th February, 1950.
The import into the State [Haryana] and possession of any quantity of classes or any preparation or admixture thereof or of any substance obtained from the Indian hemp plant and used as a substitute for charas by any person within [Haryana] is prohibited.
