A man, who had filed a complaint against PM Narendra Modi for allegedly “insulting” the Indian National Flag, on Saturday told a Delhi court that he was recently physically assaulted and warned not to pursue the case.

Complainant Ashish Sharma, who had filed Criminal Complaint for registration of an FIR against the Prime Minister, recorded the pre-summoning evidence before Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria in his complaint. The court has now fixed the matter for further proceedings on July 30.

“…on May 11, 2016, at around mid-night, an attempt to kill me took place near my house and I was warned that if I will not stop the complaint, I will soon be dead,” Sharma said. “On that day (international yoga day) PM was wearing the Indian Tri-colour which is the national flag of India.

The PM Modi cleaned his face and sweat of his body all over and clean his nose as well and as such he wiped his face with national flag in front of the world… The Worldwide Media as well as Indian Media took photos of PM insulting our national flag,” Sharma said.

He claimed PM Modi insulted the flag more than 20 times on that Day. “I strongly believe that PM Modi knows the Constitution of India and that the act of insulting the Indian National Flag, I am sure that the Modi insulted our National Flag knowingly, willingly and intentionally,” he said.
