January 17, 2019:

Rajaram Legal, which was converted into a law firm in 2017 by former Unilazer general counsel Archana Rajaram, has promoted Bangalore-based principal associate Prasad Subramanyan to partner.

He is a 2012 graduate of Christ University’s law school, and had worked for more than four years at Nishith Desai Associates, followed by Khaitan & Co.

He had joined Rajaram in July 2017 as a senior associate.

Subramanyan specializes in private equity and venture capital deals, including funds formation, investments, exits and acquisitions.

According to our deals database, as a principal associate, Subramanyan had been involved in at least four corporate deals in 2018.

Rajaram Mumbai-based managing partner Archana Rajaram commented, “Prasad is a phenomenal lawyer and deal maker. His ability to drive complex multi-party negotiations and win over counterparties is extraordinary. Ever since he joined us, his ownership and contribution to the firm has been a fundamental part of our growth.”

Prasad’s addition to the partnership grows Rajaram Legal to a total 3 partners, including Rajaram in Mumbai and 2nd Bangalore-based partner Priyadarshani Sherchan. Its total fee-earner headcount is 8.

Rajaram had started off in 2016 by herself, planning to operate as an extension of venture capital in-house departments, but had in 2017 adopted a law firm model as work grew.
