Juris Prime Law Services, spun out of Kochhar & Co in 2015 by Hyderabad head and partner VVSN Raju, has promoted one freelancer and one of its Principal Associates to partner.

Rianna Lobo, a 2005 Delhi University LLB graduate with a masters in business law from NLSIU Bangalore, had left Kochhar & Co as a Senior Associate in 2016 and had been working with Juris Prime as a freelance lawyer since Sep 2018.

Last month, she has joined the firm as a full-time partner as head of its corporate, IT and employment law teams. According to Juris Prime, she was “the first Indian lawyer to practise Indian law in Japan” (she had been Kochhar’s resident associate in Tokyo between 2012 and 2013, having obtained the Gaikokuho-Jimu-Bengoshi - foreign lawyer registration - to practice Indian law in Japan). She also works in prevention of sexual harassment and data privacy laws.

Ravi Mohan has been has been promoted to partner in the firm’s real estate practice. According to managing partner VVSN Raju, “he has been the brains behind some of the largest land acquisitions deals in Hyderabad”.

Mohan, has been working as an Advocate since 2002, and had joined Kochhar in 2006, moving to Juris Prime when it opened.

The promotions/hire grows Juris Prime Law Services to a total of 4 partners, out of a total of 15 fee-earners.

Raja Shekar, who had merged his litigation practice with Juris Prime in 2016, is now working with the firm as external counsel on a freelance basis, practicing in the high court and NCLT, according to Raju.
