December 25, 2018:

IndusLaw senior partner & head of litigation and dispute resolution, V Srinivasa Raghavan, has received the senior counsel nod from the Karnataka HC.

Raghavan has been a partner at Indus since 2000, having been working in litigation for 22 years.

We have reached out to him for comment.

Senior IndusLaw partner Suneeth Katarki told us that there would be no formal head of litigation & disputes at Indus for now, but that the firm has was continuing to add more partners in this practice.

IndusLaw will have 4 disputes partners across India without Raghavan, out of a total of 29 partners and 149 fee-earners. The Bangalore office now has 2 disputes partners, with 1 partner based in Mumbai, and 1 partner in Delhi.

In a press release Katarki added, “It’s an absolute delight to see the progress of Raghavan from the days when we were discussing law over vadas and coffee in our college canteen and in darshinis during our early practice days to his becoming a senior advocate now. The journey together has been tremendously enriching and great fun.”

Raghavan is a 1996 graduate of NLSIU Bangalore and is the latest in a series of NLS alum senior advocates that began with Akshay Bhan and Dayan Krishnan in 2014 followed by others (’97 graduate Vikramjit Banerjee was elevated in 2018 - if readers know of any others from NLS who have been given a gown, please do share in the comments).
