May 16,2018:

In response to an RTI query, President’s Secretariat has revealed that two cases of sexual harassment were filed in Rashtrapati Bhavan since the promulgation of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Social Activist Nutan Thakur had filed the RTI to which Deputy Secretary JG Subramanian revealed that two complaints were filed and both were enquired into.

In his reply dated May 9, 2018, Subramanian added that one of the complaint was found to be false while in another case, the accused employee was found guilty.

The names and other details related to the two cases were not divulged as it is prohibited under the Act.

Social Activist Nutan Thakur had sought information about number of complaints filed at Rashtrapati Bhavan since the promulgation of the Act and the result of their enquiries.
