Kolkata, Apr. 14: Amid the controversy over snooping on Subhash Chandra Bose's close relatives, Netaji's grand nephew Chandra Kumar Bose has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's positive and pragmatic approach.

"I got a feedback from my elder brother Surya Bose, who happened to meet the PM at Berlin. Mr Modi was very positive, he was very pragmatic in his approach. He said he hasn't personally seen the files so he would see that the files are scrutinised and the truth should come out," he told ANI here.

Bose further said that Prime Minister Modi assured his brother that proper scrutiny would be done so that the truth comes to the fore.

"Mr. Narendra Modi has assured Surya Bose and the Bose family and the people of India that he would see to it that proper scrutiny is done and declassification of Subhash Chandra Bose files would be taken up by his government," he added.

Bose asserted that the Prime Minister is fully aware of the momentum that has taken place in the country and even abroad.

"I'm sure he has realised that there is a public demand to get to the truth because Subhash Chandra Bose, Indian National Army, and subsequently the INA trials completely destroyed the allegiance and loyalty of the British Armed Forces," said Bose.

"Narendra Modi would create history himself by disclosing the truth of what happened to one of the greatest sons, the hero of Asia, Subhash Chandra Bose," he added.

The Prime Minister earlier met Netaji's grand nephew Surya Bose in Berlin during which they discussed the surveillance issues and declassification of the freedom fighter's files.

Subhas Chandra Bose's nephew Ardhendu Bose on Monday said that his family was aware that surveillance was being carried upon on orders of the government but continued to lead their lives in their own way. He also said that his family does not believe that Netaji died in a plane crash. He added that that Bose was the only threat in political career of Jawahar Lal Nehru.
