August 6,2018:

As per the circular released by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on July 13, 2018 the ‘Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination 2018’ was announced jointly by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry (ASSOCHAM) and Ericsson.

This search aims at promoting IPR awareness by rewarding the high school students (Class 9-12) and undergraduate students who score well on the online examination.

As part of this IP mission, Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) set up by the government, has already conducted numerous awareness programmes in various schools and industrial associations.

As the policy specifies IP should be taught in schools though students are already burdened with too much to learn, wouldn’t a course designed to make children more creative be better for encouraging creativity than burdening them with an additional course on intellectual property?
