Doctors getting attacked in the hospitals across country has caught the attention of the President Pranab Mukherjee.
While laying foundation stone of a Super Specialty Hospital in Udupi, Karnataka, Mukherjee condemned attacks by stating that, "This is no way... if you can't trust the doctors, whom can you trust."
He also called for more investment in the infrastructure and personnel in health sector.
President also emphasised that incase the doctors were unable to save lives of the patients, any violence towards them on part of relatives should be avoided.
There have been a string of attacks on the doctors by the relatives and the attendants of the patients across the country, most recently in Mumbai, which has led to a mass strike by the Resident doctors some months ago.
