December 20,2017:

The 16-year-old Ryan International student accused of murdering the Gurugram schoolboy Pradhyumn Thakur will be tried as an adult.

Advocate Sushil Tekriwal who is representing Pradhyumn's family has confirmed the same.

She has stated that,"During subsequent proceedings the convict will be considered as an adult".

Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Gurugram on Wednesday has transferred the murder case to the District And Sessions Court and hearing is scheduled to begin December 22,2017.

Pradhyumn, a Class 2 student, was found with his throat slit inside a washroom at his school on September 8.

CBI had arrested the minor accused, a schoolmate of Pradhyumn's, on November 8 on charge of murdering the seven-year-old boy.

Accused had reportedly confessed to the crime under the interrogation, but his family had constantly maintained that he is innocent.
