December 03, 2018:

On Monday, a group of molesters set woman ablaze, who was going to police-station to file complaint against them.

In a ghastly incident, a woman was set on fire by two of her molesters as she was on way to file an FIR against them in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur.

The 28-year-old woman suffered 60% injuries and is battling for her life.

Notably, the woman was turned away by police when she went to complain the first time, on Nov 29. Victim was intercepted by accused, she somehow escaped.

On Nov 29, the woman was on way to her in-laws' house in the adjacent village. The two men, both brothers, stopped her and passed lewd comments.

As they tried to molest her, the woman escaped. She went to Tambor Police Station with the help of locals, but the officers turned her away.

After arriving at her in-laws' house, she narrated the incident. Later, police told her to register complaint at Police Station.

The in-laws then called up '100' to complain about the incident against the brothers. A police team came to their house and asked the family to register a complaint at Tambor police station.

On Dec 1, the woman started her journey to the station, where she was supposed to be joined by her relatives.

The accused then attacked her at a sugarcane field. Constable & SHO have been suspended.

The accused poured kerosene on her & set her ablaze. Locals rushed to her help.

She was admitted to the district hospital. The accused, Rajesh & Ramu, were arrested on Dec 2.

Tambor SHO Om Prakash Saroj's suspension has been ordered by DGP OP Singh. Head constable Chedilal was suspended for not filing the complaint.

Since both accused are Dalits, SC/ST Act was invoked.
