January 05, 2019:
On Saturday, actor Alok Nath was granted anticipatory bail by the Dindoshi Sessions Court after an FIR was filed against him by producer and television screenwriter Vinta Nanda.
The City Civil & Sessions Court was hearing Nath's petition seeking protection from the arrest. Nanda had accused the actor of raping her 19 yrs ago.
On Oct 8, the 48-year-old producer opened up about her ordeal through a long Facebook post.
She recalled Nath's misconduct on the sets of the TV show 'Tara'.
Following this, the Cine And TV Artistes’ Association sent a notice to the 62-year-old actor seeking an explanation as to why he should not be debarred after the allegations.
Other than Nanda, Sandhya Mridul had also shared her account of being harassed by Nath.
Nanda filed an FIR against Nath on Oct 18 last year. She was the third woman to reach out to the Mumbai police after the #MeToo movement broke out.
