The President of India has appointed Justice Hrishikesh Roy as Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court effective 30th May 2018.

Appointment has been made consequent to the retirement of Chief Justice Antony Dominic.

Justice Hrishikesh Roy was transferred from Gauhati HC to Kerala HC vide a notification dated 28th May & today, on account of him being the senior most judge of the Kerala High Court, he has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court.

Justice Roy’s name was recommended for transfer from Gauhati HC to Kerala HC in January 2018 & after consultation with the CJI Dipak Misra, the transfer was effected by President Ram Nath Kovind yesterday.

Justice Roy’s parent High Court is Gauhati. He was the senior most Puisne Judge of the Gauhati High Court & was also the Judge-in-Charge of the Administrative Department (JAD).
