March 5,2018:

On Monday, Delhi High Court asked Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government to calm its “tempers” after it issued a notice directing Chief Secretary (CS) Anshu Prakash to appear before Delhi Assembly Privilege Committee.

Delhi HC maintained that sending such notices adds fuel to the fire, pointing to the fortnight-long standoff between the Delhi Government and the Bureaucracy, that started with Anshu Prakash allegedly getting "assaulted" at the residence of CM Arvind Kejriwal by the two AAP MLAs.

Anticipating the ‘Breach of Privilege’ proceedings against him if he failed to appear before Panel, Prakash approached HC last week with intent to get the Notice quashed.

However, Assembly Panel accused Prakash of lying before High Court and stated that they would also initiate "forgery proceedings" against him for misinforming the court about the objective of the meeting.

Claiming that Notice had nothing to do with tussle between the Bureaucracy and political executive, MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged on Sunday that CS was trying to divert attention from the Delhi Bank Fraud involving Rs 100 crore and trying to protect those involved in the scam.
