INTRODUCTION

Senior Advocate, Kanhaiya Singhal, is practicing advocate from more than 12 years. He deals mainly with Criminal , Bail, Surety, Civil and Rent matters in  Saket Court, High Court and Honorable Supreme CourtQuestion 1- Tell us something about your early childhood and schooling?

Answer - I have completed my schooling from private public school of Agra (U.P.)  Then I pursued my B.Com from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. After than I completed my LLB from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra.

Question 2 - Are you a first Generation Lawyer?

Answer - Yes, I am  the first generation lawyer in my family.

Question 3 – When did you decide to pursue law as profession and why?

Answer – I had a great interest in this profession even before completing my graduation. I was really very inspired by my father because he always wanted me to work and serve for my society.  I was aware about the about this field and started studying in that direction after completing my graduation.

Question 4 – How was your experience in Law school?

Answer – During my educational Law study I learned a lot in my field as my faculties used to be the retired presiding officers of the institutes. I used to participate in Moot court competition both at intercollege and state level which always helped me to act as a lawyer today itself. I used to present my college in various conferences organized at both national and state level.

Question 5How do you think law education has changed and why?

Answer - I would say law schools now have adopted a more Digitalised, Dynamic concept to enhance people skills in overall fields. As compared to study in my coarse of education, today young generation is more active and aware which help them to grasp everything in couple of seconds. Earlier law was stick to only bare acts and books but now law has upgraded to a level that a common man can even take knowledge of laws by surfing on net.

There is easy availability of all the desired citations and case laws which made libraries a showpiece, even laptops are allowed in the court room now.

Question 6 - Would you like to share any experience of your first day/ case in court?

Answer - Just as every lawyer who walks into a court for the first time, I was nervous and excited, my legs and hands were shaking due to fear, there was a lack of confidence.                                   On my first day I was asked by my senior advocate to take a “PASSOVER” to which I would like to share with you that I was not even aware of the term Passover. It was really a challenging opportunity for me to appear in front of presiding officers of court.

Question 7 - Please share two or three memorable cases you dealt with in your journey as an advocate?

Answer –  I dealt with many cases to which one refers to Mohmmad Bilal versus State in which I was able to set aside acquittal from High Court in which the accused had ended with his punishment so decided.

Question 8 - What according to you are the three strengths of Indian Legal System that make it the strongest pillar of democracy?

Answer - The following three I feel are the strengths of Indian Legal System;

  1. Judiciary the most supreme in which Judges work honestly to make sure that justice prevails.
  2. Bar bench which guides and handles the advocate society.
  3. Justice always prevails in society.

Question 9 - What according to you are the areas where legal system in our country has to improve?

Answer – According to me there exist a number of area where our legal system lacks. There should be more presiding officers in court of law so that anyone wont wait for Justice. There should be regulations for our professionals who act in our legal bodies. New laws shall develop so that even in the worse situation a common man can never loose hope.

Question 10. What is your wise advice and success mantra for young legal professions?

Answer - I would want to say to all the young professionals and legal enthusiast that, “Work hard, Study Hard so that you can serve and earn hard”
