High Court to Navjot Singh Sidhu: If you as a Legislators won’t follow the Rules then who will?


Bench said, ‘Everything is not about the law’.

On Friday, Punjab and Haryana High Court questioned State’s Culture Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s participation in the The Kapil Sharma Show that aired on Sony Channel.

HC asked Sidhu,”Everything is not about the law, but what about the propriety and the morals? If a minister is not following the Service Rules, how can he make his juniors follow

such rules?”.

High Court further added that, “If legislators won’t follow the rules then who will.”

Punjab and Haryana High Court also pointed out that there is a laid down Code of Conduct  which states that the after taking office or as long as he is in the office, Official or a MP will refrain from joining or holding the another office of profit or a private business.

Petitioner who has filed case against Sidhu’s submitted before the High Court that it is a case of violation of the interests.

The final argument of the case is fixed on May 11.

>Navjot Singh Sidhu who is in eye of the storm over his work in the comedy show had stated that he would work on TV after 6 pm and that he would fly down to Mumbai every Saturday, shoot for show and then fly back to Punjab on the Sundays.
