Delhi Police constable has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a Metropolitan Magistrate in Drunken condition.
A Delhi Police constable has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a Metropolitan Magistrate with Saket Court Complex near Yamuna ghat in South East Delhi.
It is alleged that constable Ravinder Kumar was inebriated when he misbehaved with the magistrate in front of her husband and minor son, exposing the latter to foul language she was subjected to.
“He tried to make a video of the complainant and used abusive language when she objected to his actions,” said a senior police officer.
The family had gone to the Yamuna Ghat in Kalindi Kunj to perform some religious rituals, next to a police post on Sunday
Their car was parked near the ghat next to a police post, which comes under Jaitpur police station.
“I went near Yamuna to perform my rituals. It took me around two minutes. Thereafter, I returned to board my car. As I was sitting in my car, I noticed that a constable was taking photos of my car and me,” the victim said in her complaint.
When she confronted Kumar, he replied, ‘jao jao yahan se, meri marzi’ (go away, I will do as I wish).
“From his way of walking and speech, I realised he was completely drunk. He started abusing me in filthy language,” the complaint added.
She also raised questions on the police’s response to the entire incident as even after the arrival of a police team the accused continued being verbally abusive and became more aggressive.
First, the magistrate contacted SHO Jaitpur police station, who told the judge to wait and said that a team would reach the spot immediately. “I along with my husband and child kid kept waiting in the car as we apprehended that the constable might do something as he was completely drunk,” she said.
She got off the car when the police team arrived but their response was not what she had expected.
Kumar even claimed that being a police officer, he would lodge a false complaint against the judge and her husband.
On the basis of MMs complaint a FIR was registered under Sections 354 A, 506 and 509 IPC. Accused has been placed under suspension.
Role of other Policemen is being probed for their inaction at the spot. Hindu
