Several Ministers, MPs and IPS officers were caught on Camera taking Bribes.

On Friday the Calcutta HC ordered a preliminary CBI inquiry into the leaked tapes of Narada sting operation in which several Trinamool Ministers, MPs & an IPS officer were shown taking money.

This order drew a sharp response from CM Mamata Banerjee who indicated that her party and the state would battle out this case both legally and politically.

The West Bengal govt. is moving the Apex Court against the High Court order.

Division bench of acting Chief Justice Nishita Mhatre & Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty directed CBI to take possession of all the material evidence & devices related to sting within 24 hours & complete preliminary probe in more 72 hours.

The High Court directed the state to initiate disciplinary proceedings against IPS officer S.M.H. Meerza within 1 week & consider suspending him according to rules.

Mamata Banerjee said this was not a “big issue” as the state had initiated such proceedings against officers earlier as well.

CBI may take over the records from the High Court registrar general on Saturday & decide whether to file an FIR by Monday as HC refused to give any stay on its order.

The CM reacted soon.”This is unfortunate, we had initiated an inquiry, the High Court stopped it within 24 hours.”
