The probe panel found "glaring disparities" between their known sources of income and their actual wealth.

The joint investigation team that probed Panamagate graft case against the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family has found "glaring disparities" between their known sources of income and their actual wealth in its final report submitted to Supreme Court today, stated a Media Report.

JIT that investigated Sharif family's business dealings has recommended that National Accountability Bureau open a reference against Sharif and his family after probe panel found the "glaring disparities" between their known sources of income and their actual wealth, Dawn reported.

JIT report suggests that a reference should be filed against the Prime Minister Sharif and his sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, as well as the daughter Maryam Nawaz, under the Section 9, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ordinance 1999.

JIT has found that assets of all the four respondents have been found to be more than sources of their income in probe completed today.

Report stated that financial structure and the health of the companies in Pakistan having linkage to Sharif family also do no substantiate their wealth.

JIT chief Wajid Zia presented report along with the evidence to a three-member Special Bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan.

Joint Investigation Team (JIT) cpmprising of six members  was set up in May by Supreme Court with mandate to probe Sharif family for allegedly failing to provide trail of money used to buy properties in London in 1990s.

Last year, Panama Papers revealed that three of the Prime Minister Sharif's children owned the offshore companies and assets not shown on his family's wealth statement. Assets in question include the four expensive flats in the Park Lane, London.
