Arpit is being treated for cancer at Tata Memorial Hospital stated that, “I want to catch criminals and put them in jail as they are bad people. I want to serve my nation when I grow up.”

On Thursday, Arpit Mandal, who is being treated for cancer, was Officer in-Charge of Mulund Police Station.

7 year old, Arpit was dressed in uniform of ‘Senior Police Inspector’. Dressed in uniform, was in charge of Station for the day, realising his dream of becoming a police officer.

Deepak Bhatia, CEO, Make-A-Wish India, said, “Doctors contact us to help fulfil the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. We aim to lift the spirits of children battling for life. We try to make sure they complete their treatment and not give up.”

Police Sub Inspector Savita Mane said, “Arpit spent time with officers trying to understand how an officer goes about his job and life.”

On Friday, Mumbai Police, posted pictures with Arpit on their official Twitter handle with the message: “Mulund Police Station was completely won over by the undaunted spirit of a 7-year-old Arpit Mandal. Fighting cancer. If we could, we would fulfil all his wishes beyond just being a Police Inspector for a day. #ProtectingSmiles.”
