Chief Justice of India T.S. Thakur has met and greeted PM on his Birthday.

CJI was on a two-day visit to Gujarat State. Yesterday he paid a surprise visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar, to greet him on his 66th Birthday.

They spent 30 minutes with each other over the breakfast.

This meeting is very significant because the Government and the Judiciary are on a collision course and have openly expressed their differences on vacancies in the higher judiciary, NJAC and issues related to Appointment of Judges.
