Swasth Bharat Prerak Fellowship by Ministry of Women and Child Development & Tata Trusts [Rs. 6.6L/Year]: Applications Open

The Swasth Bharat Preraks program is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Tata Trusts. It is one the largest programs supplementing the highest level of bureaucracy through bright young managers from premier management, engineering and social sciences institutions along with professionals with prior experience of working in the development sector.Their mandate is to drive and monitor the effective and successful implementation of the POSHAN Abhiyaan, which aims to break India’s inter-generational cycle of malnutrition. The Government of India launched the POSHAN Abhiyaan (The Nutrition Mission) on the 8th of March 2018 with the target to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, anaemia and low birth weight babies.

With its multi-sectoral approach it aims to ensure better monitoring, issue alerts for timely action, and encourage States/UTs to perform, guide and supervise the line Ministries and States/UTs to achieve the targeted goals.

The Roles

The Prerak will work in teams at the District and State Level, playing an active role in all aspects of Government engagement to improve the nutrition status of the district and thus contributing to the bigger vision of a healthy India.

This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses and strategies, along with developing, implementing, and communicating the same within the project. The Prerak will manage the implementation of the Poshan Abhiyan, and provide coordination with State and Central Government. You will also have the opportunity to present results to senior bureaucrats and implement recommendations in collaboration with District and Block Level officials.

The Prerak will receive excellent training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from Tata Trusts colleagues and Central Government Officials.

The Prerak will join the office of the District Magistrate/Collector to work in teams to effectively implement and drive the Poshan Abhiyan in the District.
