Integrity and quality control are pillars of international courts. Centre for International Law Research and Policy (CILRAP) continues its activities to concertize this elusive obvious. On 22-23 February 2019, we hold an expert conference at the Indian Law Institute in New Delhi on ‘Quality Control in Criminal Investigation‘. We zoom in on key bottlenecks that cause long and costly investigations and ask whether relevant work-processes can be developed further, in particular whether tools such as investigation plans, draft indictments, and pre-trial briefs should be used better, or be supplemented by new instruments.
This is the third project in a series that has seen the publication in 2013 of ‘Quality Quality Control in Fact Finding in Fact-Finding‘ and in September 2018 of ‘Quality Control in Preliminary Examination: Volumes 1 and 2‘.
The latter was the subject of recent CILRAP events (with Norway, HRW and Leiden University) in The Hague and Rome.
Persons interested in the upcoming New Delhi conference may write to events@cilrap.org.
