An Act to repeat the Madhya Pradesh Gramdan Adhiniyam, 1971.

Be it enacted by the Madhya Pradesh Legislature in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows :-

  1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Madhya Pradesh Gramdan (Nirsan) Adhiniyam, 1992.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.

  1. Definitions.- In this Act unless the context otherwise requires :-

(a) "Appointed day" means the day of commencement of this Act under sub-section (2) of Section 1;

(b) "Mandat" means the Madhya Pradesh Gramdan Mandal established under Section 4 of the Madhya Pradesh Gramdan Adhiniyam, 1971 (No. 1 of 1972).

  1. Repeal and savings.- (1) On the appointed day the Madhya Pradesh Gramdan Adhiniyam, 1971 (No. 1 of 1972) shall stand repealed and the Mandal shall stand dissolved.

(2) All assets and liabilities of the Gramdan Mandal on the appointed day shall stand vested in the State Government and the State Government shall have all powers necessary to take possession of recover and deal with such assets and discharge such liabilities.

(3) Any proceedings pending immediately before the appointed day to which the Mandal was a party shall be continued as if the State Government was party thereof in lieu of the Board.
