ORAL JUDGMENT Dt:14.12.2022 (per Prashant Kumar Mishra, CJ)
1. This writ appeal would call in question the order dated 20.11.2007 passed in W.P.No.12097 of 2000 by the learned single Judge setting aside the order dated 28.01.2000 passed by respondent No.1 in the writ petition. The learned single Judge also directed respondent No.3 therein to pay an amount of Rs.48,000/- to the petitioners therein towards compensation with interest at 6% per annum thereon from March, 1979 till realisation. Respondent No.3 in the writ petition is the appellant before us.
2. While entertaining this writ appeal, this Court has not stayed the operation of the order passed by the learned single Judge. It appears 2 that the writ petitioners have preferred C.C.No.815 of 2008 alleging wilful non-compliance of the order passed by the learned single Judge. The aforesaid contempt case was disposed of vide order dated 21.10.2008. Thus, it appears that the order passed by the learned single Judge has already been complied with.
3. In view of the above, the writ appeal has been rendered infructuous.
